Pagoda Tea

My final project in Ceramics 231; we had to build a teapot.

I was going for a pagoda inspired shape with bamboo handle and spout. This piece is fully functional.

All hand-built from high fire clay in ball form, coils, and slabs.

The glazes did not come out right as you can see.

Bottom/globe glaze: Black
Top/pagoda glaze: Blush Red over Black
Handle/Spout glaze: Dunham Shiny?

Clear glaze over everything and the inside.
(This is probably why it didn't come out right.)


Don't know what I'm doing with this yet. Possibly selling.
